1. Who you are dealing with

This shop is operated by Saxon Commodities (Pty) Ltd, trading as Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings (registration 2018/546006/07, VAT 4940301817). Registered address: 8 Simola Drive, Simola, Knysna, Western Cape, 6571. Factory: Jonker Street, Industria, Knysna. These terms apply to every order placed on shop.customblinds.co.za.

By placing an order you accept these terms, together with the Returns, Warranty, Custom Fit Guarantee, Delivery and Privacy pages, which form part of them. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

2. Made-to-measure goods

Almost everything sold here is manufactured to the sizes you enter. You are responsible for the measurements supplied. For a recess (inside) fit, 10mm is deducted from the width you enter so the blind fits the opening (no-drill mounts too); the drop is not deducted. The measuring guide explains how to measure, and we will measure with you over a video call if you ask.

Every order is checked by our team before production starts. If something in an order looks wrong we contact you before making it.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are in South African Rand and include 15% VAT. Delivery within South Africa is free. The price shown when you complete checkout is the price you pay; we may correct an obvious pricing error before accepting an order, in which case you can cancel for a full refund.

Payment is by Ozow instant EFT, Yoco card payment, or EFT. An order is accepted, and production is scheduled, once payment has cleared.

4. Production and delivery

Production takes 5 to 7 working days after our team has checked your order, excluding transit time and outside peak seasons. Blinds are couriered free to your delivery address anywhere in South Africa. Delivery times given are estimates, not guarantees, and depend on the courier and your location.

Inspect every item on delivery. Damage, defects or incorrectly supplied items must be reported to accounts@customblinds.co.za within 48 hours of delivery, with your order number and photographs.

5. Custom Fit Guarantee

If the measurements you supplied were wrong, the blind is not returned, it is fixed: too big is cut down free and sent back, too small is remade at a reduced price, with the blind travelling back to us at your cost. If the error is ours, every cost is ours. Full terms are on the Custom Fit Guarantee page.

6. Returns, cancellations and refunds

Custom-made goods cannot be returned or refunded for change of mind once production has started, as the Consumer Protection Act allows for goods made to a consumer's specification. Standard, non-custom items may be returned within 30 days of delivery if unused, uninstalled and in original packaging, with return carriage at your cost.

Returns require prior written approval from accounts@customblinds.co.za. Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days to the original payment method. Full detail is on the Returns page.

7. Warranty

Indoor blinds carry a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Outdoor blinds: fabric 3 years, components 1 year. Somfy and Motion (Coulisse) motors and controls carry their manufacturers' 5-year warranties, handled through us. Exclusions and how to claim are on the Warranty page. Warranty claims are separate from returns.

8. Using this site

Product images, prices and descriptions are given in good faith; colours on screen can differ from the fabric, and fabric samples are available on request. Content on this site, including the Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings name and the Custom Lifestyle Awnings™ and Custom Lifestyle Outdoor Blinds™ marks, belongs to us and may not be reused without permission. We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time you order is the one that applies.
