To make a blind and get it to you we need your name, where to send it, how to reach you, and the size of your window. This page says what we collect, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do about it, under the Protection of Personal Information Act.
What Custom Blinds collects
- What you give us
- Name and surname, email address, delivery address, phone number, and the window measurements and options you enter to price and manufacture your blind.
- What your order creates
- Order history, payment status and delivery tracking, so we can make the blind, ship it and handle a claim later.
- What your browser sends
- Device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, the pages you view and the searches you run on this shop.
Who else sees your Custom Blinds order details, and why
These are the services this shop actually runs on. Each receives only what it needs.
- Yoco and Ozow
- Payment. Card and instant-EFT payments are processed by them when you check out.
- The Courier Guy
- Delivery. They receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver and to give you tracking.
- Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity
- Measurement. How the shop is used, so we can fix what is broken and see which pages help people buy.
- SMSPortal, and Gmail for our order mailer
- Order notifications: confirmation, dispatch and delivery messages.

Your privacy rights with Custom Blinds, and how to use them
With adequate proof of identity you can view, correct or amend the personal information we hold about you, and request a record of it. Email accounts@customblinds.co.za from the address on your order and tell us what you need. If your details change, tell us and we will update them.

Custom Blinds privacy questions
What is the best way to have my data removed?
Email accounts@customblinds.co.za from the address on the order, with proof of identity, and say what you want removed. We will tell you what we can delete and what we have to keep. Records tied to a completed sale are kept where the law requires it, and that is the usual limit on a deletion request rather than a reluctance to act on one.
Who is responsible for my personal information?
Our Information Officer, who is accountable for how Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings handles personal information and for requests under POPIA and PAIA. Write to the Information Officer at accounts@customblinds.co.za.
Do you sell my information?
No. The parties listed above receive only what they need to take payment, deliver the blind, message you about the order, or measure how the shop is used.
What are my rights under POPIA?
With adequate proof of identity you can view, correct or amend the personal information we hold; request a record or description of it; and request that it be corrected, destroyed or deleted. We act on a request unless there is a credible reason we cannot, we tell you what we did, and where we cannot agree to a correction or deletion we record that it was requested and not made. We also notify you of unauthorised access to your personal information. A fee may apply to providing a record, and to requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive or repetitive. You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Does Custom Blinds use cookies?
Yes. Cookies are small text files placed on your device. They do not contain your personal information but they let us associate you with a particular device, keep your cart, make the shop more usable, and measure how it is used. Your browser can block or delete them, and parts of the shop may stop working if you do.
Can I order if I am under 18?
Not without permission. If you are under 18 you must have your parent or guardian’s permission before you use this website or give us your personal information.
How long does Custom Blinds keep your information?
For as long as we need it to supply the products and services you asked for, for as long as the law requires or allows, and for as long as it is necessary to uphold the contract between you and us.
