Face fix (outside mount): the blind is wall mounted in front of the opening, covering it. Width: opening + 100mm each side (200mm total). Drop: measure from 150mm above the opening top (bracket position) to the desired bottom. No factory deduction.

Inside mount (between the posts): the blind drops inside the opening, between the pillars, posts or side walls. Measure the clear gap between them. Needs 150mm width of solid surface for the brackets to fix into.

Since we live in KZN we were aware we could not expect a physical presence and that installation would be our responsibility. We drew plans & sent pictures and did the installation ourselves (not for the faint hearted) but the blinds were made exactly to size and fitted perfectly.

How do sunscreen outdoor blinds work?

Turn the crank handle; the gear raises or lowers the blind and holds it at any height. The blind hangs free, kept straight by a weighted bottom bar. Fit it inside the opening, between the pillars or posts, where the brackets need 150mm width of solid surface to fix into. Or fit it face fix, against the wall over the opening.
